DAMNA is the only national level association of students, teachers and doctors of modern and ancient system of medicine belongs to the backward classes. Dr. Ambedkar Medicos Association was started in 1957 at GMC, Nagpur. It was the oldest association of its own kind. Later in 70’s the association spread its wings to other medical and allied colleges. In 2000, a resolution was passed by the association (DAMA) to form a National association as "Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Medicos National Association". DAMNA was registered under Societies Registration Act, 1860 with vide number, Maharashtra/985/2000 on dated 24th October 2000. DAMNA is the only national level association of students, teachers and doctors of modern and ancient system of medicine belongs to the backward classes. This association represents the voice of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar’s followers and looks after not only the interests of medical students and doctors but also the well being of the society at large.
